The start of a new year is always full of promise, and January is shaping up to be a month packed with excitement and fresh beginnings. Here’s a look at what’s on my radar and all the things I can’t wait to dive into this month!
1. The Release of Onyx Storm (The Empyrean Book 3)
Mark your calendars for January 21! The highly anticipated third installment of The Empyrean series by Rebecca Yarros is finally arriving. Onyx Storm promises even more drama, adventure, and romance. I’ll be carving out a cozy corner, complete with a blanket and a mug of hot cocoa, to binge-read this one. If you haven’t started the series yet, there’s no better time to catch up on the first two books!

2. Decluttering and Preparing to Move
With an exciting move to a new home on the horizon, I’ve been diving into decluttering and organizing every corner of our current space. Here are some of my favorite tips to keep the process manageable:
- The One-Year Rule: If you haven’t used it in the past year, it’s time to donate or toss it.
- Zone Decluttering: Tackle one area at a time, like a single drawer or shelf, to avoid feeling overwhelmed.
- Create a System: Label boxes as “Keep,” “Donate,” or “Trash” to streamline decision-making.
- Think Ahead: As I pack, I’m imagining how I want to organize in the new space—less clutter means a cleaner, fresher start!
There’s something so satisfying about starting the year with a clean slate and an organized home.
3. Cozy Winter Wardrobe Refresh
Winter fashion is all about staying warm and comfortable while looking effortlessly chic. Here are my go-to staples this month:
- Puffer Coats: These are a winter essential—lightweight yet so warm.
- Fuzzy Socks from Barefoot Dreams: Absolute heaven for your feet and a must for cozy nights in.
- Alo Sweatpants: Perfect for lounging or casual errands.
- Platform Clogs: A trendy yet functional way to elevate your winter style.
- Oversized Sweaters: Nothing beats the comfort of a chunky knit paired with leggings or jeans.
These pieces make it easy to stay cozy and stylish no matter how chilly it gets.
4. Exploring New Recipes
This January, I’m diving into Martha Stewart’s The Cookbook, her 100th landmark book filled with 100 treasured recipes and stunning photography from her archives. The collection is a mix of classics and unique dishes, and I’m thrilled to try some new recipes with the family. Whether it’s an indulgent weekend brunch or an easy weekday soup, this book is sure to inspire some culinary magic.
5. Skincare Refresh with Plated Face Serum

This winter, I’m investing in my skin with a new face serum called Plated, available at Skinlab Injectables and through their website. This cutting-edge product is designed to rejuvenate and hydrate, giving skin a much-needed boost during the colder months. I’ve heard amazing things about its results, and I’m excited to see how it transforms my routine.
January is a time for new beginnings, cozy moments, and making space for the things that bring joy. Between reading an epic new release, revamping my skincare routine, experimenting in the kitchen, and preparing for a big move, this month is packed with excitement and possibility. What are you looking forward to this January? Let me know in the comments!
